Sustainable packaging

Today, only less than 3 percent of all waste plastic worldwide is being recycled. A significant difference with the recycling rates of 30 percent for paper, 35 percent for metals and 18 percent for glass. This clearly demonstrates the need for alternative sustainable packaging solutions.

The Plastic industry is clearly undergoing a change and Bioplastics gain recognition in a market which sofar was dominated by non-renewable oil based plastics. Growth rates of Bioplastics are estimated to reach 15-20% in 2011 and a total capacity of one million tons has already been reached.

Our PLA BIO-SLEEVES are guaranteed to be 100% biodegradable and compostable in accordance with the EN 13432 standard which implies that PLA Films:

• degrade within 30 – 45 days in optimal composting conditions to carbon dioxide, biomass and water.
• are exempted from the DSD fee in Germany until end of 2012 and can be marked with the "Seedling"
• Do not negatively influence the composting process and/or the quality of the compost itself.
