Sustainable packaging

Today, only less than 3 percent of all waste plastic worldwide is being recycled. A significant difference with the recycling rates of 30 percent for paper, 35 percent for metals and 18 percent for glass. This demonstrates the need for alternative sustainable packaging solutions.

The Plastic industry is clearly undergoing a change and Bioplastics gain recognition in a market which sofar was dominated by non-renewable oil based plastics. Growth rates of Bioplastics are estimated to reach a marketshare of 25-30% in 2020 and a total capacity of one million tons has already been reached today and is expected to increase to 6 million tons in 2016!
